Joyce Crupper Clifford Retired teacher and Administrator Joyce Crupper Clifford is truly a servant leader and outstanding alumnus of the School of Human Environmental Sciences. She touched the lives of over 5,000 students during her 27 year career as a teacher and high school administrator. Joyce has been an active volunteer with Cooperative Extension for over 50 years and was also an active member of both the American and Kentucky Association of Family and Consumer Sciences for over 40 years. Joyce has received multiple honors including Kentucky Home Economics Association Teacher of the Year (1978), UK College of Human Environmental Sciences Outstanding Alumnus (1994), and induction into both the Kentucky 4-H Hall of Fame (2000) and the National 4-H Hall of Fame (2004). |

Professor Emerita, Helen Anderson Shaw has enjoyed a distinguished career in higher education. She served as Dean of the School of Human Environmental Sciences at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro (UNCG) from 1994 to 2000. Prior to this position, she enjoyed a 25 year career as a professor of nutrition at UNCG and the University of Missouri-Columbia, serving in a variety of leadership positions at both institutions. Since retiring, Dr. Shaw has become an avid watercolor painter and remains very active in her community through volunteering. Her honors include Volunteer of the Year from the Greater Greensboro YMCA (1999-2000), Superior Graduate Teaching Award from Gamma Sigma Delta (1984), and induction into the Lafayette High School Hall of Fame (1999). |
