Your Drinking Water - For public water system customers, read your annual water quality report. Help protect drinking water supplies by preventing water pollution

Home Water Treatment - Test your water before you pruchase a home treatment system. Select equipment to match what you'd like to change about your water.
If you use a wll, spring or cistern, test your water once a year for quality. Always store chemicals away from your water supply. Inspect your spring cistern or wellhead regularly.
Mercury in Fish - Mercury in fish can be dangerous. Pregnant women, women who may become prgnant & young children are at greatest risk
Swim Advisories - Swim advisories are issued to protect people from harmful bacteria. Follow all swim advisories in affect for local streams, rivers, and lakes.
Choose treatment systems certified by UL, NSF or the Water Quality Association. Consider the total cost of treatment, including installation, mainenance and filter replacement.
If you suspect lead pipes or plumbing fixtures, have your water tested for lead. Use only cold water for cooking and drinking.  Run the cold water for 2 minutes any time it has not been used for 6 hours.
Those at risk should limit fish intake and avoid eating shark, swordfish, tilefish or king mackerel. Before eating fish you catch locally, check for any consumption advisories.
Avoid swimmig and wading in urban streams. Contact the Kentucky Division of water for a current list of swim advisories.
Review treatment system warranties and maintenance schedules. Change filters and follow all maintenance schedules for treatment systems.
