FREE Military-Extension Adventure Camps in 2012! USDA Logo

Do you know a military parent and teenage child who would like to have lots of fun at a free camp this summer while reconnecting after being away from each other during a military deployment? The University of Kentucky Family and Consumer Sciences Extension is offering free camps for military parents and their teenage children ages 14-18 to attend together! In addition, there are many other adventure camps being offered in other states. Information about all the adventure camps being offered can be found at https://www.extension.purdue.edu/Adventure_camps/campshome.html.

Kentucky’s camps are open to military parents and their teenage children ages 14-18 only from any state and from any branch of the military. It is the intent of the Department of Defense sponsored High Adventure Camps to provide quality outdoor experiences for teens of Service Members in the Active, Reserve and Guard components. Specific questions regarding eligibility should be made to the appropriate Adventure Camp point of contact. For Kentucky’s camps, first priority will go to military parents/children who have experienced at least one deployment and who are geographically dispersed.

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!  To sign up, please download and complete the 2012 Military-Extension Adventure Camps application and send through regular mail to Lauren Smith, Camp Coordinator (contact information is in the application packet).
