Impact Statement

Agent worked with the Louisville Housing Authority and the National Center for Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University to develop an teen smoking prevention video series. Agent organzied tobacco farm tours and interviews with farmers to provide an overview of tobacco production. Farmer perspective showed economic importance of the tobacco crop to individual farm family, community, and the local businesses.

An exchange program with local residence of the housing authority and local farmers is being planned to share experiences of teenagers that begin smoking and using tobacco products.
