Sinking Creek Field Day
The Sinking Creek Field Day was put together by our office in 2005. The committee was made up of individuals from several organizations from the KY Division of Water, Sinking Creek Task Force, KDA Division of Pesticides, Small Farm Program, the local RC &D and NRCS, Breckinridge County Extension Agents and local farmers.
The field day was designed to address the issue of atrazine use, buffer zones and strips, rotational grazing, water systems for rotational grazing. The event was well attended by 110 producers from Breckinridge and Meade Counties even though it was 100 degrees.
The event was well planned and we are looking forward to doing something every year, maybe not this big, but this gets the ball rolling to work with this committee.
