The county portion of the Garrard Extension budget is nearing the $200,000 mark. The actual budgeted amount for the '06-'07 fiscal year just over $185,000. The district board was able to not only meet it's budgeted obligations during the fiscal year, but finished the year with a balance on hand of some $66,000. In addition to the traditional and expected line items, major improvements were made in the security lighting and appearance of the south parking lot at the Extension Center during early 2006. The district board opted for the 4% increase in the county tax rate during the fiscal year.
