14 members of the Nature's Thyme herb Group continue to grow and explore new ways they can be an effective civic organization in Garrard County. Some of their activities this past year have included planning and writing a monthly newsletter for members and friends, planning and hosting a Tea membership event with 27 people attending on a Saturday morning. The guest speaker was an expert in making herbal teas. Group members took over the responsibility of caring for the herb garden at the local historical home, they volunteered to host one of the stops on the bi-ennial Garden Tour, they planned and contacted speakers for programs on soapmaking, lavendar ice cream, lavendar wands, and growing and drying herbs.
All together members have contributed over 200 hours of volunteer time to community activities including the historical house herb garden and hosting the herbal tour.
Officers and members work together to plan and maintain quality prorams throughout the year to continue to attract new members and expand everybody's herbal knowledge.
