Title Bringing Master Gardener Program to Grayson County

Impact Statement

Extension’s efforts to establish a Master Gardener Program has successfully developed volunteers to expand Extension educational efforts to the Grayson County community. Extension now has 16 new educators in selected horticulture topics that are expanding Extension’s out reach to the Grayson County community. These volunteers are using their new skills to facilitate a highway beautification project at the entrance to Leitchfield from the Western Kentucky Parkway, and provided leadership in Extension education, and planning projects at Rough River State Park, County Extension Office, and Camp Loucon. Also, taught gardening class and activities at St. Paul Catholic School, and at the Senior Citizen’s Center. There are 16 Master Gardeners in Grayson County.
