Water sampling and testing at 14 sites in the 3 county watersheds with 14 testing dates during peak crop production. Testing from 2/28/05 through 11/7/05 showed that the Extension education program had produced a dramatic reduction in sample reading above 3ppb, as well as pin-pointed one site to further investigate. On May 9th the Leitchfield Water Works reported a sample of raw water Atrazine of 4.80ppb and finished water Atrazine at 2.60ppb safe drinking water. The season long testing validated Extension Agent and producer efforts to clear up the Atrazine problem. The testing results pin-pointed one area of concern that will be tested and monitored closely in the next year’s program.
