Impact Statement

The 500 plus Hardin County Homemaker (HCH) members have made the 2005-06 year a very special year for their organization. The theme for the year was ¡§Anything is Possible¡¨. They proved it an many ways

Hardin County Homemakers gained 42 new members.

Held a bazaar that raised over $1000 for scholarships and Ovarian Cancer research

One of the member serves as the Lincoln Trail Area Homemaker Secretary.

They donated monies to send 4-H¡¦ers to camp.

Six Homemakers members were recognized as KEHA 50 year members.

25 Hardin County Homemakers were presented KEHA awards for 500 and 100 hours of volunteer service at the state level.

38,962 volunteers hours were given to the community by 113 Homemaker members from 17 clubs this is a value of $584,430 (at $15.00 hour for volunteer time)

Eight items were placed in the KEHA Cultural Arts Contest. With six blue ribbons and one grand champion ribbon.

Nine members attended the State KEHA meeting in Paducah

Leaders have attended 8 leader trainings re teaching over 500 others

Homemakers gave a 3 college scholarships (totaling $2,000) to incoming college freshman who are related to a Hardin County Homemaker

Homemakers gave 5 Mini-grants (totaling $750) to Homemakers to further their education in a field of their choice.

Over 60 classes have been taught in a variety of Heritage skills to over 200 people.

HCH took on the leadership role with a new community wide program, Hardin County Backpacks. The program is now self-sufficient with homemakers serving on the board of trustees and helps meet the need of hungry children in Hardin County.

HCH have countless donated baby quilts and other items to the Hardin Memorial Hospital.

These activities they have increased knowledge, improved health and emotional well being in the community and provided needed services.
