Impact Statement

A strong effort was made to expand the county representation on the Cooperative Extension Service Extension Council. In doing so the group worked towards the development of a new extension facility and several fundraising efforts.
The Lawrence County 4-H Community Council reorganized this year involving a larger group of community citizens bringing in new ideas and the oportunity for expanded partnerships.







relies on funding sources to support 4-H. Funds are used for the new 4-H Wildlife and Nature Center log cabin, educational materials and programs, workshops, awards, incentives and 4-H marketing items. Volunteers were involved in grant preparation and many of the funding sources. The grant resources have reduced the need for other time-consuming. The grant sources have exposed more individuals in the community to the 4-H program. The development at the 4-H Nature Center will deliver years of environment education, tourism dollars into the local economy, and improve the health of individuals that take advantage of the 2.2 miles of developed nature trails. Grants and gifts totaled $22,200.00 for this year. Fundraising efforts netted another $10,161.00. Tools of measurement are reflected in continued leadership involvement year after year, and financial gains.
