Fifty-two area loggers attended a Ky Master Logger certification program in Ohio Co. in 2006. This training is essential for all logging operations in the area in order to maintain Ky Master Logger status.

All commercial timber harvesting operations must have a certified Master Logger on-site and in charge of each logging operation. To maintain their Master Logger status, loggers must attend obtain approved continuing education credits at trainings such as was held.
Post-training evaluations indicated 16 local & area logging businesses were assited in maintaining compliance with state regulations. Also participants used information obtained in this training on 65% of their operations. In total, this impacted 1,960 acres and 10,379,980 board feet of timber worth over $2.3 million to 120 landowners in the region.
