EFNEP
The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program in Ohio County reaches limited resource families teaching them one on one or in group meetings how to improve the quality and safety of their meals. To measure the outcomes of this program, the enrolled homemaker fills out an entry report and as exit report to measure progress that has been achieved with the homemaker. This past year of the 23 families that graduated:
*100% showed improvement in one or more nutrition practices.
*100% showed an improvement in one or more food resource management practice.
*57% showed an improvement in one or more food safety practices.
*91% demonstrated acceptable food safety practices compared to 74% at entry.
*Fewer families reported running out of food before the month is over.
