Title Pike Arts Master Data Base

Impact Statement

Three main areas have been identified through surveys, interviews, discussions, and council meetings as critical for the development of the arts in Pike County: communication, transportation, and education. In addressing the communication need, the first action taken by Pike Arts has been to establish the Pike Arts Master Data Base to include artists and arts supporters of the area.

Through meetings, emails, surveys, phone conversations, word of mouth communication, and aggressive recruitment, a master data base has been established and continues to grow daily. To date, there are over 3,000 active contacts with name, phone, email address, mailing address and interest categories. These contacts are organized into groupings of artists, community supporters, educational arts leaders, and health care providers with an arts interest. The Pike Arts Data Base provides a communication tool used to mobilize communities and citizens to a point of action and support for the arts in the greater Pike County area, thus increasing artist and audience participation, community awareness and financial support.
