Title Arts Action by Educating Through Marketing

Impact Statement

Communication is a challenge in Pike County due largely to the geography and the non-information based culture. In order to deliver the new arts programming to the people, Pike Arts Advisory Council needed to advance the level of honor and, thus, action in the arts through marketing of the arts. Pike Arts invested in program identity, branding and educating the population on the value of the arts to the community.

Pike Arts has a notable marketing campaign including weekly radio arts calendar, weekly newspaper arts calendar, Community Calendar on radio, TV, and newspaper, free PSA's, and reporters that will run arts events as full spread articles and lead radio news on the hour, DJ's that will not only promote but also invite artists on air. Regular Email Blasts go to over 1000 recipients to update arts activities. The Pike Arts Logo is represented on every program document that is sponsored through Pike Arts.

Pike Arts has documented every arts activity and delivered it to the population through the media, newsletters, emails, listservs and word of mouth. Pike Arts has successfully informed the local media what the arts development will do for the long range community development plan and has involved the media in the process of development. Pike Arts is now an invited representative and is showcased in Chamber of Commerce, Pike County Tourism and Community and Economic Development Planning.
