France Study Tour

2-week study tour (2009, 2008,2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, typical itinerary)--

2009 Study Tour / May 11 (after final exams) -- cost approx. $3,000. per student (airfare, lodging, meals, and transportation in France).  Student will receive 3 credit hours for the mandatory Spring orientation.

4-week internship after 2-week study tour.  Host family will provide room and board.  Student can earn 3 credit hours for internship.

The college may provide scholarship to support the study tour.

Tuesday, May 13  Pick the group at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, to Dijon.
04:30 p.m.    Welcome meeting at ENESAD
07:00 p.m.    Dinner with ENESAD students

Wednesday, May 14
09:00 a.m.     Introduction to Historic Burgundy and guided tour of downtown Dijon
02:00 p.m.    General introduction to Burgundy
03:30 p.m.    Tour of a "small red fruit" farm at Concoeur
05:30 p.m.    Reception at the City Hall of Dijon (Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy)

Thursday, May 15
10:00 a.m.     Tour of the Cistercian Abbey of Fontenay (11th  Century)
12:30 p.m.    Lunch at the farmer restaurant of Flavigny - fortified middle age city
03:00 p.m.    Overview of agricultural landscapes and tour of a cereal farm
08:00 p.m.    BBQ with students

Friday, May 16
08:30 a.m.     Presentation of the Comte cheese processing and tour of a factory
11:00 a.m.     Tour of a Montbeliarde caw dairy farm
02:00 p.m.    Aging at Cheese Cellars at Fort St Antoine
04:30 p.m.    Tour of a "lapidaire" factory

On your own for visiting Dijon (market, museum)

11:00 p.m.    A lavender distillery at Nyons

Relax, visit of the city, abrivado at 11:00 a.m., lunch on your own, Tour of a Fighting bull farm. Riding and dinner at 5:00 p.m.

11:00 a.m.     Tour of an olive tree farm and an oil factory at Nimes
03:00 p.m.    Stop and cross Pont du Gard Roman aqueduc
