During Summer, approximately mid-May to mid-July, there is an opportunity for up to two University of Kentucky students to work at Maejo University in Chiang Mai. The travel opportunities around Thailand and Southeast Asia are phenomenal after the internship is completed. Air travel is safe and very affordable. Hostels and student lodging is inexpensive and comfortable. A few U.S. dollars go a long ways in Thailand. The mountainous areas of northern Thailand (Chiang Mai), the beautiful beaches of Phuket, and the shopping mecca of Bangkok are logical choices. Travel to other countries, such as Laos, Malaysia, and Vietnam, is also easy. Scholarships may be available to cover part of the airfare. All meals and lodging during the internship are covered by Maejo University.
