Ukraine Study Tour

map from lonelyplanet.com

Office of International Programs for Agriculture provides a 2-week study tour in May (after final exams). The plan is to visit Ukraine and to study the culture, traditions, and business of agriculture.  Ukraine has been called the breadbasket of Europe and now stands in a key position of development on the eastern border of Europe, but also with strong ties to Russia. The tour will include visits to many agribusiness firms in Kiev, Cherkassy, and Crimea.  It will include dairy products processing, beer manufacturing, integrated poultry operations, integrated fruit and vegetable processing, grain extrusion manufacturing, emerging food retailers, as well as visits with existing USAID projects, exchanges with students and faculty at the Kiev National University and the East European University of Economics and Management in Cherkassy. Cost approximately $2,000/student (includes lodging, meals, and transportation in Ukraine).

Students can receive 3 credits for the trip and mandatory Spring orientation.

If you are interested in the Ukraine Study Tour, you can E-mail, stop by the office, or fill out an on-line form on the Adobe Acrobat PDF format and mail to the address below.
