December 12-13, 2008 - Invasive Species Conference
We invite faculty, staff, and students from universities and agencies to present your research or applications on invasive plants, invasive animals and insects, and invasive pathogens. Click here to see a one-page Call for Papers flyer (pdf).
We have extended the deadline for submitting an abstract. If you are interested in presenting your research or displaying a poster at the Invasive Species Conference, please email your abstract to Laura Lhotka (laura.lhotka@uky.edu) by November 14, 2008.
The purpose of this conference is to demonstrate a sense of urgency regarding the threats posed by the most significant invasive species in Kentucky and to propose and share possible solutions. This conference will help to create linkages within and across organizations to capitalize on funding, research, and applied opportunities.
The conference is open to university faculty and staff - state agency staff - students - city council members - urban and county government staff - industry representatives - federal agency personnel - plant nursery representatives - neighborhood associations - developers - general public
The conference planning committee is still in the process of finalizing a few speakers. We will update the conference agenda as we finalize the guest speakers. Click here for the Draft Agenda (pdf).
Click here for the Registration Form (pdf). The registration fee for Friday, December 12, 2008 is $35.00. This includes lunch and refreshments during the day. The registration fee for Saturday, December 13, 2008 is $10.00, which includes lunch.

This program has been reviewed and is approved for professional CFE credits by the Society of American Foresters.

We are currently checking to see if the conference is eligible for pesticide applicator credits. As soon as we have this information, we will add it to this webpage.
