The study of soil conditions affecting nutrient availability to plants, methods of assaying soil fertility and the interpretation of biological, chemical, and physical concepts in explaining plant nutrition stress. Prereq: CHE 105, PLS 366 and PLS 386 or consent of instructor. .

An integration of the effects of soil, climate, species and management on the nutrition and dry matter accumulation of plants. Lecture, three hours; laboratory, two hours per week. Prereq: Undergraduate courses in plant science, crop production, chemistry and soil fertility. It will be assumed that students are familiar with the material contained in the aforementioned courses..
