I am broadly interested in the ecosystem structure and function of both native and 'naturalized' grasslands. The types of research questions my lab addresses are: 1) How do grassland ecosystems respond to climate variability and land use change?; 2) How are soil microbial communities in these ecosystems structured?; 3) Do native and naturalized grasslands function similarly with regard to carbon and nitrogen cycling?
