S. Lawrence & Elizabeth Ritchey Yost Lea Professorship in Plant and Soil Science

The “S. Lawrence & Elizabeth Ritchey Yost Lea Professorship in Plant and Soil Science” is awarded to a faculty member in the College of Agriculture who:

1. Is tenured and holds the rank of Associate or Full Professor.
2. Has research interests clearly linked to Plant and Soil Science with emphasis first on wheat or white corn, or second, other grain crops
3. Is recognized as an outstanding leader in the area of Plant and Soil Science.
4. Contributes to the advancement of new knowledge; and
5. Has a strong research program underway involving other faculty, staff, and students of the university. 

The Professorship is awarded by the Dean of the College of Agriculture following the recommendation of the selection committee. The Professorship is held for three years and may be renewed for a second three-year term.
