Position

Tim Devarenne is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at Texas A&M University. Tim's research relates to protein kinase signal transduction pathways that control programmed cell death in plants. These pathways and genes are also analyzed for their role in controlling programmed cell death during plant pathogen interactions. As model systems he uses tomato and its bacterial pathogen Pseudomonas syringae.

“My studies in the Plant Physiology Program prepared me for my future studies as a postoctoral researcher and an Assistant Professor. The classes were challenging and fostered a problem solving based way of approaching scientific questions.”
